Flowers in the yard.

I am not sure the exact type of flower this is.  Identifying plants is not my specialty.  I mostly dig the holes where instructed. I took a few photos while I had the camera.

Garlic and Onion Sprouting

A few weeks ago I started a separate garden for the garlic and onion plants:

Today the garlic and onion are both showing through the layer of mulch.

Lettuce Sprouting

The next row up from the Peas and Beans are two rows of Lettuce.  One row is pictured below.  I think it is the bibb variety.

Green Beans Sprouting

There was little change in the garden this weekend when I did some weeding and watering.  It appears today that the plants and grass have taken off.  Here are the green beans sprouting.

Lettuce Seeds Sprouting

Today I watered and weeded the garden. The lettuce seeds are starting to sprout. It appears there will be quite a few to thin out. About three of the tomato plants did not transplant well and have died off. I will replace them this weekend. I am still looking for sources of five gallon buckets for the remaining tomato plants and peppers.

Broccoli and Tomatoes Planted

Only a few of the broccoli plants have continued to grow. These will be planted in a week. I direct seeded a row of broccoli seeds. Four more tomato plants have been transplanted. I still have hot peppers to transplant into containers. I am debating starting herbs in containers. I have plenty of seed left.

Garlic and Onion Garden Planted

Today I dug up the dead grass next to a flower bed. Five cloves of garlic, about 40 plants and 40 yellow onions were planted. I checked the main garden. No seeds sprouted yet. Three tomato plants appear to be lost in the heavy rain. All the remaining seedlings in the garage were transfered to 4 inch pots. I will give them a week or two since at night has been 38 degrees.
